The program advertisement will be aired twice a day at the peak of listenership hours; that is just before the daily news and the political program (bartilmaameedka) which has a large audience-they are aired at 1:00-pm and 9:30-pm respectively.

The opening: a song calling for peace

•  track 4: again, it is the announcer asking who is to work for peace

First program: the role of intellectuals in peace and reconciliation

The traditional elders will give in-depth analysis about traditional conflict solving mechanism in Somalia.

    • Dacar Hirsi Hooshow, a traditional elder in Hiiraan region, central Somalia urging Somalis to forget the culture of tribalism and take the path of peace.

Peace and reconciliation program contents: part four

Our program puts emphasis on the role of religious leaders toward reconciliation.

Particular stress will be placed on peace and reconciliation based on the holy Koran and the hadith (traditions) of prophet Mohamed (peace of Allah be upon him).

The program content goes as follows:

  • The voice sheikh Maxamud Aw-abdule Ariif, one the most listened and highly respected Sheikhs in Somalia . The Sheikh talks about about and reconciliation. why we chose him and gave him this long time is that he is influential and respected by all

The program is about the role of politicians toward peace and reconciliation and it goes as follows.

  • The voice of sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, the leader ARS detailing the ongoing peace process and how it can be achieved
  • The voice Abdishakur Mire Adan, a Somali politician in Puntland talking about how peace can be reached and the feasibility of Djibouti peace accord
  • The voice of Ali Mudey Mahi, a Somali politician in Mogadishu talking about how peace can be achieved

Impact assessment: 6th program

  • During our call-in –show we received 20 calls and three SMS massages.
  • About 40 % of the callers are hopeful about the ongoing peace process.
  • About 30% believe as long as the enemy forces (Ethiopians) are in Somalia no peace is possible.
  • About 15% say Somalis must come under a tree and sort out their problems all alone.
  • About another 15% suggest that Somalis be educated on peace and media like Simba must continue such programs like this one.
  • There also some people who are painting a gloomy picture on the ongoing peace because the alliance has broken up and the government is at loggerheads with one another.
  • Some call on the politicians, religious leaders, intellectuals including the Diaspora to be serious about peace process.
  • One of the callers said “the Ethiopians must go and the peace conference must be held in Somalia .”
