One civilian person has been killed and a soldier has been wounded after Ugaas Khaliif airport, 5km north of Beledweyn was shelled this morning.

Ethiopian forces that were based in Beledweyn moved to the area after the shelling to start search in the area.

Ethiopian forces in the area have fighting an ever-growing insurgency in which the civilian population was the first pray. They have also been meeting with local elders to discuss a possible way out from the latest clashes between the Ethiopians and the insurgency.

The Ethiopians called for the local population to return home following their displacement due two consecutive days of clashes.
