Four people have been killed in Afgoie district, 30km south of Mogadishu following an exchange of fire between Somali government forces newly trained in Ethiopia and groups opposing the government policies and the Ethiopian presence in Somalia .

According to our correspondent sheikh Cadow Amin, all businesses have been shut down due to these confrontations and the civilian populations in the area have been faced by fear and uncertainty.

The clashes started soon after the arrival of these forces in the area early this morning.

The security situation in Afgoye has been relatively calm compared to other parts of the country where almost daily Iraq like insurgent attacks are taking place.
