The Somali opposition coalition endorsed a truce with the Somali transitional government to end two decades of bloodshed.
Suleiman Olad Roble, spokesman for ARS, told radio Simba that the majority of the central committee fully endorsed the peace agreement signed in Djibouti last June.
“After marathon deliberations and discussions, we agreed to support the accord “said Mr. Roble.
“We are ready to fully implement the deal on our part and we call on other sides to do so”, he said.
He also said that especial committees have been formed to deal with thorny issues like the deployment of UN forces and the proposed truce with the government.
