Fighting breaks out in Huriwaa and Yaqshid districts
Mugadishu, Thursday, 17 July - 2008 [Radio Simba]

Forces loyal to the union of Islamic courts have attacked several Somali government and Ethiopian bases like Ex pasta factory,Arafat,caymiska, and Towfiiq area.

Cabdiraxiin Ciise Cadow, the military spokesman of union of Islamic courts, told radio simba they lost two of their men and three were also wounded.

The government on its part has refused to comment on the latest fighting.

During the fighting there was an exchange of heavy shelling which landed on some residential areas.

In Huriwaa district, a mother her two children died and four others were wounded.

Civilian population in Somalia is always the prime victim of the confrontations.
