Efforts to mediate the ARS are being conducted on several fronts by some important Somali figures including the former president of the TNG, Abdikasin Salat Hasan.
Mr. Salat who is in Djibouti is participating efforts to bridge the gap between the alliance.
After marathon discussions, we reached the conclusion to arrange a venue for a meeting and sort out the rift said Mr. Salat.
Mr. Salat also expressed pessimism on the deadline of the Ethiopian withdrawal saying this is totally impractical and out of the question.
He accused the US government of giving Ethiopia the green light to invade Somalia and displace the Somali people.
“There is no government in Somalia and those who came with the Ethiopian tanks are unable to drive the Ethiopians out” he said
Abdikasin Salat was elected as president in 2002 in Arta , Djibouti , but his government was unable to assert its authority due pro Ethiopian warlords.
