Top UN official Osman Ali Ahmed who was shot dead in Mogadishu was laid to rest in Moalin Nur cemetery, 13km south of Mogadishu .

Mr Osman was attacked by men armed with pistols who shot him at the head leaving him fatally wounded. He was immediately rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his wounds later on.

The motive behind the killing is not known yet known, but this comes following spate of kidnappings against aid workers.
