A loud explosion targeting a bakery was heard in beledweyn city last night. Armed groups the attack caused groups threw a hand grenade to the bakery. It caused no death or damage. The motive of the bomb attack is still unclear however unconfirmed reports suggest that that the bakery used to sell bread to the Ethiopian troops in Beledwyn –an act which annoys the anti –Ethiopian insurgents.
The insurgents warned the local population against dealing with the Ethiopian forces .suspected collaborators and dealers were previously targeted.
Last nights attacks came just after the failure of talks between the Ethiopian forces and the local elders. The Ethiopian reportedly asked the elders to provide them a safe passage in order to collect water and other goods, but after the failure of talks the Ethiopians vowed they would go shopping by force. This has created fear amongst the population of beledweyn.
